and Showcase of Fertilix® at ESHRE 2015
24th June, 2015; Lisbon, PT--CellOxess scientists were met with enthusiasm as they presented research at the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE)’s annual congress in Lisbon, Portugal. The ESHRE conference, the largest and most prestigious meeting in reproductive medicine, marked a break-out performance for the company’s scientific staff. In addition to showcasing Fertilix®, CellOxess scientists Aron Moazamian and Ashley Polhemus presented two pieces of original research: the public release of preclinical efficacy studies with Fertilix® antioxidant supplements, and a study linking oxidative damage to cell membranes to the generation of DNA damage in the cell. Fertilix®, with its pre-clinical data, was the only dietary supplement represented in a series of invited lectures during the conference.
The experiments with Fertilix®, performed by Prof. Jöel Drevet from the University of Clermont in France and Prof. Alfonso Gutierrez-Adan at the University of Madrid in Spain, highlighted the efficacy of Fertilix® antioxidants in two mouse models of sperm oxidative stress. Their research, which is in the process of being peer-reviewed and published, showed that Fertilix® not only prevented sperm DNA damage, it also improved fertility rates and protected testicular tissue from degeneration after thermal stress.
Both presentations were received spectacularly by the scientific community, researchers and clinicians alike. Official conference abstracts and the poster presented at the conference can be found on the ESHRE 2015 conference website.
We thank ESHRE for a fantastic conference, and look forward to the congress in Helsinki, Finland in 2016!
